Ontario Based
Research

Ontario Field Trail Research:

NE Ontario 2013-14
The first major, informal, field trial project was completed across NE Ontario in 2013-14.  It was funded by the North Eastern Soil and Crop Improvement Association and Regional Government financing, and supported by private companies and individual farmers.  It is the basis of all recent haskap projects that have been undertaken in the north since that point.

The two-year field study created 16 individual field trials across the districts of Northern Ontario.  A final report, focused on growth, soil types, climate, weed management techniques, and “field observations” was formally presented to Ontario SCIA and OMAFRA in the spring of 2015, and is available at: Haskap Evalutation and Management Developments Final Report
